What face data does the app collect? When you take a photo in the Glowbase app, we temporarily process the image to extract only your skin tone color (hexadecimal value).
How is face data used? Face data is used exclusively to analyze skin tone color. No facial recognition, identification, or biometric analysis is performed. The photo is processed once to generate a non-identifiable color value.
Face data storage and retention: Face data is never stored or retained. Photos are processed on our secure servers and permanently deleted within seconds of processing. We do not create backups, copies, or retain face data in any form.
Third-party sharing: Face data is never shared with third parties. We do not send photos or face data to AI providers, analytics services, or any external parties. Only the derived, non-identifiable skin tone value (not the photo) may be shared with our AI service provider to generate personalized recommendations.
Third-party storage practices: Since we never share face data with third parties, no third-party services store, retain, or process your face data. Our AI providers receive only the extracted color value, not the original photo or any face data.
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

Glowbase uses third-party AI providers (such as Google Gemini) to generate personalized results. We never send your photo to AI providers. Only the derived non-identifiable skin tone hex value and your manually selected eye and hair color are sent to the AI provider. No names, emails, or other personal identifiers are shared.
Our servers are located in multiple countries. If you are accessing our Services from outside these countries, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed by us in our facilities and by those third parties with whom we may share your personal information.
If you are a resident in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, then these countries may not necessarily have data protection laws or other similar laws as comprehensive as those in your country. However, we will take all necessary measures to protect your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Notice and applicable law.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements).
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
Photos are never retained. Any photo you provide is used only once to extract your skin tone hex value and is deleted immediately after processing.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.
Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent's use of the Services.
If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.
